Performance tests are conducted using specific computer systems and reflect the approximate performance of iMac. Adobe Photoshop 21.2.0 tested using a 26GB file and rotate, unsharp mask, auto color, and scale functions. Testing conducted by Apple in July 2020 using preproduction 3.6GHz 10-core Intel Core i9-based 27‑inch iMac systems with 128GB of RAM and preproduction 3.6GHz 10-core Intel Core i9-based 27‑inch iMac systems with 64GB of RAM.

WebKit compile tested via command line using Xcode version 11.5. Autodesk Maya 2020.1 tested using a 245.6MB scene. Final Cut Pro 10.4.8 tested using a 60‑second project with 8K Apple ProRes RAW media, at 8192x4320 resolution and 29.97 frames per second, transcoded to Apple ProRes 422. Individual tracks were added during playback until CPU became overloaded. Tested using Logic Pro 10.5.1 with project consisting of multiple tracks, each with an Amp Designer plug-in instance applied.
