This grounds the cushion to the machine so static cannot build up. I bolt mine on to the bottom shock mounting bolt and run up and over the cushion tube and bolt to one of the bolts for top shock mounting plate. Just used copper wire, cut to length crimp on ends and bolt on. I don't seem to have as many problems with the electronics as I without the ground straps. The cushions would build up quite a large charge at times and jump across the plastic bearing to the machine frame. By grounding the cushion you will prevent any static eletricty from building up in cushion and jumping to frame. Running a ground strap from the cushion and grounding to machine. The ST drive gear clutch washer mod, if you are having problems with the ST switch geared rack rebounding when the ST solenoid disengagues you can make a washer out of an old T-band and add to the top of the large drive gear to stop the rebound. Went from having to weld one or two a month to having one or two a year break. If you have the old style of ball cushion and have problems with them breaking, you can add a second cushion stop by pulling cushion fully to rear and marking kickback and drilling and bolting second stop bracket on so the Ball cushion will hit on both sides when a ball is thrown and prevent the twisting which causes the metal to break. So far I have them on the ball door side of a couple of lanes, and I like the result. I'm in the process of installing the pin deflector adapters form Scripps(the wood between the mounting bracket and the deflectors) which moves the deflector foward into the machine. Since I did all the machines here I don't have the pin james in the corners. If any of you have not done the angled corner belt reduction on your machines this is also one of the best things you can do for the machines. Here are some of the things that have helped here. The reason that I started this thread is I'm always looking for ways to make the machines run at a higher FPS.
#BRUNSWICK GSX PINSETTER TROUBLESHOOTING MODS#
Brunswick make slight improvements every series, if there are any mods that work you should show them to your local Brunswick representative, you'll probably see it on the next generation of machines out of the factory!Īlastair, is this where you zip tie the plunger arm to the door locking lever to remove the play where the lever is slotted. I cant think of anything else off the top of my head for the GS-X. A mechanics design that Brunswick took on because it works! The other popular choice is the extender sleeves for the pin stations. I think its most important to do this on the brand new clean machines so you keep on top of the hill, its hard work for a tech to get back up there if you let the standards drop. Cutting down transfer of dirt can improve your GS machine no end. The new system can be rotated so doubles the time between being swapped. The older pin wipes that sit on the front of the chute are ok but you need to change them at least weekly. These clean the pins as they pass through and really work.

There is a new Brunswick product that is a mop head that sits behind the chute. If anyone hasn't changed over I would highly recommend changing the outer runs and keeping what they take off to keep the smaller less important runs going. Yeah the 13mm Polychord is much better, we have stopped selling the 12mm in the UK.
